New Words

I haven't done the New Words thing for quite some time, so it must be time again :-)

Sobriquet = A sobriquet is a nickname or a fancy name, usually a familiar name given by others as distinct from a pseudonym assumed as a disguise, but a nickname which is familiar enough such that it can be used in place of a real name without the need of explanation.

Abstruse = remote from apprehension; difficult to comprehend or understand; recondite; as, abstruse learning.

Execrable = deplorable: of very poor quality or condition; "deplorable housing conditions in the inner city"; "woeful treatment of the accused"; "woeful.

abominable: unequivocally detestable; "abominable treatment of prisoners"; "detestable vices"; "execrable crimes"; "consequences odious to those you govern"- Edmund Burke.

damnable: deserving a curse; "her damnable pride"
